A new restaurant from Chef Nicole Gomes is opening soon at Calgary International Airport

Travellers at YYC will soon have a new reason to come hungry. Wander Kitchen + Bar is preparing to open at the C Gates, led by one of Calgary’s most recognizable culinary talents, Chef Nicole Gomes.

If her name rings a bell, it should. Nicole is a Top Chef Canada: All Stars winner, a finalist on Iron Chef Gauntlet, and she even earned bragging rights on Beat Bobby Flay where she knocked out the celebrity chef himself. She was also part of Top Chef: World All-Stars and has been a familiar face on Food Network for years.

Closer to home, Nicole co-founded Cluck ’n’ Cleaver, the fried chicken shop she runs with her sister Francine, which quickly became a Calgary favourite. Now, she is bringing that same mix of creativity and comfort to YYC with a restaurant designed for travellers who want something better than standard airport fare.

Wander Kitchen + Bar promises fresh flavours, balanced dishes, and a space that feels more like a true dining experience than a stopover meal. The name reflects both Nicole’s love of exploring food cultures and the spirit of travel itself, which feels right at home inside an airport where thousands of people are passing through every day.

No official opening date has been announced yet, but the restaurant will be located right inside the C Gates at Calgary International Airport.

So whether you are off on a red-eye or waiting for a connection, Wander could become the new go-to spot to fuel up before your next flight.
