Henry’s Tavern Lands at PDX

Source, Restaurant Development + Design

As part of its drive to feature iconic local establishments among its foodservice offerings, Portland International Airport (PDX) has added the city's historic Henry's Tavern American Bar & Grill to the mix. The brewpub and restaurant opened at PDX on June 4th.

Owned and operated by Restaurants Unlimited, the new Henry's Tavern is complete with 30 beers on tap and a signature frost rail that keeps beer glasses chilled. The restaurant's design, by Bar Napkin Productions, is a contemporary, urban interpretation of the original's turn-of-the-century industrial warehouse architectural style, mixing honey gold colors with aged brick walls, wood floors, a tin ceiling, leather seating, dark wood and distinctive lighting details. A to-go counter serves customers grabbing a quick snack before their flights while the full-service interior is designed to evoke the "history, heritage and heartbeat" of the original while offering travelers a comfortable and warm environment in which to relax before their flight.

Beckoning them in is an entire passenger walkway wall stacked three-high with beer kegs chilling behind classic glass and wood doors.
